Jean Cabral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaime Mattos, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Juarês Baptista scored 0-1 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jean Cabral, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Mattos in the 11th minute of play forced Parnahyba's goalkeeper Jean Cabral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Américo Félix was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 14 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 13th minute of the game. One of Parnahyba:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Zezeco FC:s goal. Jaime de Souza placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Jaime Mattos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 21 minutes into the match, Parnahyba's goal looked a bit too open when Juarês Baptista came free, but Jean Cabral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 22 minutes into the game, Alessandro Arósio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Parnahyba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zezeco FC the free kick. A collision led to Parnahyba getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Alessandro Arósio hit a great ball. After 30 minutes of play, Zezeco FC's Jaime Mattos made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jean Cabral was left in no man's land by his defense there! Washington Leão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Claudinei Dante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Zezeco FC's goalkeeper Claudinei Dante, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 42 minutes into the game, Washington Leão cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Claudinei Dante was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After the first half Zezeco FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Juarês Baptista was the one to do the kick off. With his leg Jean Cabral managed to avoid a goal in the 52ndth minute, when Zezeco FC's Jaime Mattos fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After having played for 56 minutes, Washington Leão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Parnahyba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Washington Leão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 62nd minute, Faustão Saraiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 63 minutes into the match, Parnahyba's goalkeeper Jean Cabral had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jaime Mattos. If Juarês Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Jaime Mattos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Faustão Saraiva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Claudinei Dante read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. Jaime Mattos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jean Cabral having to interfere. Jaime Mattos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Jean Cabral made a huge save. Jean Cabral made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jaime Mattos in the 94th minute. Jaime Mattos was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 95th minute. Zezeco FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance.
