Wanderson Torres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Gil Paiva came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Tacanha SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gil Paiva couldn't finish the play. Elivélton Ortiz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Manfredo Mattos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Manfredo Mattos was a little too slow when Gil Paiva got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 44th minute. The score was now 1-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gil Paiva to make the kick off. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Manfredo Mattos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Gil Paiva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tacanha SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Gil Paiva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manfredo Mattos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
