Paulo Renato Couto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dida da Silveira in the 9th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dida da Silveira in the 12th minute of play forced Mandiroba SC's goalkeeper Paulo Renato Couto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dida da Silveira in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulo Renato Couto saved Mandiroba SC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dida da Silveira in the 18th minute of play forced Mandiroba SC's goalkeeper Paulo Renato Couto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paulo Renato Couto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dida da Silveira's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Dida da Silveira took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Paulo Renato Couto. Paulo Renato Couto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Paulo Renato Couto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dida da Silveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Mandiroba SC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Eduardo Moreno hit a great ball. Amílton Damião made an important save on a dangerous shot by Duarte Barbosa in the 36th minute. The supporters of Mandiroba SC booed when Peruibe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Fábio Vander didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Peruibe's Dida da Silveira in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mandiroba SC's goalie prevented a goal. 44 minutes into the match, Mandiroba SC's goal looked a bit too open when Geovani Jacinto came free, but Paulo Renato Couto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dida da Silveira in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulo Renato Couto saved Mandiroba SC from getting behind. Paulo Renato Couto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dida da Silveira's shot from short distance in the 48th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Duarte Barbosa to make the kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Peruibe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Fábio Vander to maneuver through the defense. Elias Lopes, 53 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Paulo Renato Couto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eduardo Quirino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Eduardo Moreno fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mandiroba SC's protests and gave Eduardo Moreno a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Peruibe booed when Mandiroba SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eduardo Moreno didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 65 played minutes, Peruibe's Norberto Guerra shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Paulo Renato Couto came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Peruibe reached it. Cauan Barreto received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Paulo Renato Couto came out and tried to block the shot, but Cauan Barreto slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 69th minute. If Dida da Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eduardo Moreno kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. If Virgílio Meirelles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulo Renato Couto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dida da Silveira in the 80th minute of play. 83 minutes into the match, Mandiroba SC's goal looked a bit too open when Dida da Silveira came free, but Paulo Renato Couto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Virgílio Meirelles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peruibe's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
