An unexpected shot in the 5th minute by Jailson de Senna got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Bebeto Negri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Jano Peixoto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emerson Pirani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Hudson Barreto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 21st match minute, Athenas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamim da Costa to maneuver through the defense. Bebeto Negri struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Timboteua's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bebeto Negri was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Jailson de Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jano Peixoto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bebeto Negri in the 37th minute. Jailson de Senna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jano Peixoto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jailson de Senna's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. Matías Maia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Athenas's Jano Peixoto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jailson de Senna in the 45th minute of play. 47 minutes into the match, Timboteua's goal looked a bit too open when Emerson Pirani came free, but Hudson Barreto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Custódio Novaes to strike the kick off in the second half. If Emerson Pirani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Bebeto Negri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jailson de Senna in the 56th minute of play forced Athenas's goalkeeper Jano Peixoto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bebeto Negri recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Serginho Koehler charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Benjamim da Costa hit a great ball. In the 95th minute Bebeto Negri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jano Peixoto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Timboteua were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
