Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Lúcio Toledo started the match with the kick off. A collision led to Taboquinha getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Osmar Torres hit a great ball. Taboquinha's Flavinho Ramos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Pedro Corrêa in the 4th minute of play. In the 5th minute, Válbson Carneiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elias Guedes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Válbson Carneiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Flavinho Ramos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 13th minute, Lúcio Toledo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Catarina's Enio Prado got a free kick in the 16th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Taboquinha's goal looked a bit too open when Elias Guedes came free, but Flavinho Ramos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 20th minute, Elias Guedes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Flavinho Ramos was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Válbson Carneiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Elias Guedes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Elias Guedes came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Catarina fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elias Guedes couldn't finish the play. Flavinho Ramos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Válbson Carneiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. When Válbson Carneiro came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Catarina fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Válbson Carneiro couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Taboquinha's zone, Válbson Carneiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Flavinho Ramos came out of the goal and Válbson Carneiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 41st minute, Pedro Augusto Leão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lúcio Toledo in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Egídio de Brito saved Catarina from getting behind. In the 44th minute, Lúcio Toledo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Taboquinha's goalkeeper Flavinho Ramos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Válbson Carneiro made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Válbson Carneiro dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Flavinho Ramos, 0-2. 55 minutes into the match, Elias Guedes notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Taboquinha's Flavinho Ramos. Flavinho Ramos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Elias Guedes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavinho Ramos having to interfere. Juarês Santos kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Válbson Carneiro kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. With a little luck, Taboquinha's Flavinho Ramos got control of the ball when Elias Guedes tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Catarina's Válbson Meireles got a free kick in the 85th minute. Flavinho Ramos made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Elias Guedes sent off a good shot on target. Válbson Carneiro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Flavinho Ramos having to make a save. In the 90th match minute, Taboquinha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juarês Santos to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Taboquinha defense, Elias Guedes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Flavinho Ramos. The Taboquinha fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Flavinho Ramos should have stopped the shot. Catarina's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
