Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Cléberson Saldanha started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Murillo Velloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gino de Queiroz, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. In the 4th minute, Ernesto do Valle made a precise shot to the right of Murillo Velloso. Bacabal MA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Murillo Velloso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gino de Queiroz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 14th minute of the match Reynaldo Arantes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Murillo Velloso skillfully saved the ball. Murillo Velloso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gino de Queiroz in the 24th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, Sílvio Luiz Ramos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Murillo Velloso. Bacabal MA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sílvio Luiz Ramos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Gorutuba's Válbson Montenegro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Faustino in the 32nd minute of play. The supporters of Bacabal MA booed when Gorutuba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olívio Seco didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match clock showed 38 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Cléberson Saldanha sped through Gorutuba's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Válbson Montenegro. Cléberson Saldanha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Válbson Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Faustino in the 52nd minute of play. Geovani Arósio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Válbson Montenegro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bruno Faustino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Válbson Montenegro having to interfere. 57 minutes into the match, Sílvio Luiz Ramos dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Murillo Velloso, 2-3. Bruno Faustino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 63 minutes into the match, Bacabal MA's Geovani Arósio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Válbson Montenegro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 64 minutes into the game, Henrique de Mendonça was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gorutuba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bacabal MA the free kick. A collision led to Gorutuba getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Henrique de Mendonça hit a great ball. 67 minutes into the match, Cléberson Saldanha notched a goal, 3-3, to the right of Gorutuba's Válbson Montenegro. Válbson Montenegro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cléberson Saldanha hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Through an outstanding action, after 78 minutes, Murillo Velloso successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When the match had gone on for 80 minutes, Ronaldinho Leite took a quick shot and it went in 4-4 without a chance for Murillo Velloso to make any attempt to save it. Gino de Queiroz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 83rdth minute tested the skills of Murillo Velloso when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cléberson Saldanha in the 86th minute of play forced Gorutuba's goalkeeper Válbson Montenegro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Gorutuba's Simão Andrade got a free kick in the 90th minute. 92 minutes into the match, Bacabal MA's goalkeeper Murillo Velloso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gino de Queiroz. Despite being the better team, Bacabal MA failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
