The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 3 minutes, Amílton Nóbrega managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bola que Rola's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amílton Nóbrega was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gancho FC's Felippe do Nascimento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maurinho Rosado in the 7th minute of play. Maurinho Rosado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felippe do Nascimento having to interfere. Maurinho Rosado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felippe do Nascimento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amílton Nóbrega in the 15th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Maurinho Rosado in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Felippe do Nascimento saved Gancho FC from getting behind. After some careless play in the Bola que Rola defense, Ivo Velasco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rubens Lopes. The Bola que Rola fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rubens Lopes should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Maurinho Rosado's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Felippe do Nascimento was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. The supporters of Bola que Rola booed when Gancho FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gernando Motta didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th minute, Amílton Nóbrega left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bola que Rola fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Amílton Nóbrega fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felippe do Nascimento having to interfere. Maurinho Rosado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jaime Senna was the one to do the kick off. Amílton Nóbrega recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Maurinho Rosado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Felippe do Nascimento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 54th minute Amílton Nóbrega shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felippe do Nascimento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 55 minutes into the match, Ivo Velasco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rubens Lopes. Bola que Rola's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ivo Velasco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. After 60 played minutes, Bola que Rola's Nicolas Pombal shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Felippe do Nascimento came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Bola que Rola reached it. Amílton Nóbrega sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ivo Velasco struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Rubens Lopes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gancho FC. In the 66th minute, Ivo Velasco left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gancho FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. If Maurinho Rosado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 77th match minute, Gancho FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jaime Senna to maneuver through the defense. In the 80th minute Amílton Nóbrega shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felippe do Nascimento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 82 minutes, the score became 3-2 when Amílton Nóbrega sped through Gancho FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Felippe do Nascimento. If Jaime Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 86 played minutes Bola que Rola got a freekick which was hit by Faustão Aguiar. Amílton Nóbrega fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felippe do Nascimento having to interfere.
