Ian Recife could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Elano Loureiro made a huge save. Gil Gomes charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gil Gomes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Caubi getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Gil Gomes hit a great ball. In the 15th minute, Gilberto Pirani ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dinei Lucas was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Elano Loureiro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. The supporters of Xerente booed when Caubi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fred Carioca didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Mathias Vidal took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Elano Loureiro to make any attempt to save it. If Mathias Vidal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mathias Vidal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Elano Loureiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, Caubi's goal looked a bit too open when Ian Recife came free, but Elano Loureiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Dinei Lucas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dito Gomes in the 51st minute of the match. After 63 minutes, Claudinho Toledo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Xerente and the Caubi players grew even worse after the yellow card. Claudinho Toledo hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. If Dito Gomes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilberto Pirani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Víktor Varela during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The crowd rose to their feet as Dito Gomes kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dinei Lucas. That made the score 2-2 in the 80 minute of play. Elano Loureiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ian Recife, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ian Recife received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Elano Loureiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ian Recife in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elano Loureiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
