Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Edmílson Cearense got the match started through his kick off. The audience was convinced that Ademir Carioca's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Faustão Alvarenga was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. Igaratinga's Luiz Fernando Cabral got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Umberto Bertassi during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 11th minute, Umberto Bertassi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Pinhao FC's zone, Luiz Fernando Cabral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amílton Fernandez came out of the goal and Luiz Fernando Cabral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Faustão Alvarenga made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Marcos de Toledo sent off a good shot on target. When Germano Gaspar fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Igaratinga's protests and gave Germano Gaspar a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Pinhao FC booed when Igaratinga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Germano Gaspar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfredo Pontes was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 23rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. A collision led to Pinhao FC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Alfredo Pontes hit a great ball. The audience held their breath when Adalberto Cardozo in the 31st minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Amílton Fernandez's left hand side. After 35 played minutes Igaratinga got a freekick which was hit by Germano Gaspar. Pinhao FC's Alfredo Pontes couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 36th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Igaratinga. Umberto Bertassi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Deivid Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Faustão Alvarenga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ademir Carioca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Germano Gaspar hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The Pinhao FC fans' excitement grew in the 53rd match minute when Pinhao FC's Ademir Carioca looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Alfredo Pontes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 60th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Faustão Alvarenga. Igaratinga's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 61st minute Marcos de Toledo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Faustão Alvarenga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Pinhao FC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Alfredo Pontes hit a great ball. Ademir Carioca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Faustão Alvarenga having to interfere. In the 84th minute, Ademir Carioca got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Marcos de Toledo came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Pinhao FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcos de Toledo couldn't finish the play. 90 minutes had been played when some careless play by Igaratinga's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alfredo Pontes was slow to take the kick. During this time Pinhao FC's players had a chance to rest. Marcos de Toledo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Faustão Alvarenga having to interfere. 94 minutes into the match, Pinhao FC's Marcos de Toledo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Faustão Alvarenga narrowly saved just below the crossbar. There was no doubt that Pinhao FC were the better team. Pinhao FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
