The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute, Lúcio Siqueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dário Damião recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lauro Neves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dário Damião in the 11th minute of the match. Dário Damião's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lauro Neves read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dário Damião in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lauro Neves saved Canteiro from getting behind. In the 15th minute, Antônio Madureira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute, Joel Madureira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tião Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 36thth minute of the game Dário Damião who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Canteiro's Lauro Neves was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Acoriana FC booed when Canteiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vágner Mesquita didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fellipe Prado in the 43rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Tostão Cordeiro, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When Vágner Mesquita came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Canteiro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vágner Mesquita couldn't finish the play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vágner Mesquita to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Álvaro Sabóia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lauro Neves was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Ruy Donatello. If Tião Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lauro Neves was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dário Damião showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 63 minute of play. Fellipe Prado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Tostão Cordeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 72 minutes into the match, Canteiro's goalkeeper Lauro Neves had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tião Souza. Lauro Neves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dário Damião in the 73rd minute of the match. Fellipe Prado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Tostão Cordeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Canteiro's Lauro Neves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Canteiro from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice moves Tião Souza could shoot a difficult shot in the 84th minute, which Lauro Neves however easily saved by the left post. In the 86th minute of the match Acoriana FC got a corner. Canteiro's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ruy Donatello ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ruy Donatello made a great header on Acoriana FC's corner, it was just that Canteiro's Lauro Neves managed to reach the ball for a save. Lauro Neves made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tião Souza in the 87th minute. After 88 played minutes Dário Damião rounded Canteiro's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-3. In the 95th match minute, Canteiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvinho de Queirós to maneuver through the defense. Acoriana FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
