In the 15th minute, Antônio Veiga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Antônio Veiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandre de Almeida having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Reynaldo Zonta's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Armindo Paes was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. Armindo Paes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuca Mendes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes into the match, Juninho Paulista notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Macao SS's Armindo Paes. Alexandre de Almeida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rogério Cearense in the 28th minute of the match. Fonseca FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 31st minute, when Rogério Cearense scored to the left of an out of position Alexandre de Almeida, making the score, 2-1. Armindo Paes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samuca Mendes in the 36th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Fonseca FC's zone, Antônio Veiga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alexandre de Almeida came out of the goal and Antônio Veiga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 44 minutes into the game, Antônio Veiga lined in a short shot 3-1 behind a frustrated Alexandre de Almeida.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Antônio Veiga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Samuca Mendess short, quick shot in the 54thth minute got Armindo Paes to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 57th minute, Samuca Mendes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Armindo Paes was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. With an all-out effort, Fonseca FC's Armindo Paes threw himself towards the right post 66 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Juninho Paulista, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 68 played minutes Macao SS got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Faustino. In the 69th minute, Samuca Mendes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Antônio Veiga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alexandre de Almeida was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. After 72 minutes of play, Macao SS's Jorge Faustino made it 5-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alexandre de Almeida was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, Macao SS's Armindo Paes got control of the ball when Samuca Mendes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Juninho Paulista had several of the Macao SS's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 81 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 5-3 score and a disappointed Armindo Paes as he didn't even see the shot coming. Alexandre de Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antônio Veiga in the 84th minute of play. If Jorge Faustino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 86 minutes, Reynaldo Zonta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fonseca FC and the Macao SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. Reynaldo Zonta hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. After 88 minutes, Antônio Veiga made it 6-3 with a short kick to the right side. Fonseca FC's Alexandre de Almeida tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Antônio Veiga in the 98th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alexandre de Almeida saved Fonseca FC from getting behind. There was no doubt that Macao SS were the better team. Macao SS's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
