The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute Victor Recife shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luisinho Alves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gil Prado might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luisinho Alves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gil Prado ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Fortaleza Alagoas bahia's Fernandinho Aguiar got a free kick in the 11th minute. Antônio da Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Recife in the 19th minute of play forced Fortaleza Alagoas bahia's goalkeeper Luisinho Alves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The goalkeeper, Luisinho Alves, was totally fooled by Timão Trigo F.C.'s Antônio da Rocha, who 21 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Fortaleza Alagoas bahia's Luisinho Alves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Fortaleza Alagoas bahia from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Victor Recife managed to get in a good position for a shot. Timão Trigo F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Victor Recife was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luisinho Alves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Victor Recife was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 28th minute. Timão Trigo F.C.'s manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Fortaleza Alagoas bahia's Luisinho Alves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victor Recife in the 28th minute of play. Juarês Paraense didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fernandinho Aguiar went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Through an outstanding action, after 38 minutes, Luisinho Alves successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 40th minute, Fortaleza Alagoas bahia's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Victor Recife fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Timão Trigo F.C.'s Gil Prado got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Victor Recife recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Fortaleza Alagoas bahia's Genílson Mesquita got a free kick in the 44th minute. Luisinho Alves came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by Timão Trigo F.C.'s Gil Prado. But to his dismay, Gil Prado quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cleiton Meirelles to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Victor Recife left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Timão Trigo F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Luisinho Alves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gil Prado in the 56th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Fortaleza Alagoas bahia defense, Victor Recife kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luisinho Alves. The Fortaleza Alagoas bahia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luisinho Alves should have stopped the shot. Gil Prado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th match minute, Fortaleza Alagoas bahia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Genílson Mesquita to maneuver through the defense. Victor Recife scored 5-1 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luisinho Alves, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 73 minutes into the match, Fortaleza Alagoas bahia's goal looked a bit too open when Antônio da Rocha came free, but Luisinho Alves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Victor Recife took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luisinho Alves. Luisinho Alves dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-1. After a defensive mix-up in Timão Trigo F.C.'s zone, Cleiton Meirelles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juarês Paraense came out of the goal and Cleiton Meirelles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 86 minutes into the match, Fortaleza Alagoas bahia's goal looked a bit too open when Victor Recife came free, but Luisinho Alves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 88th minute Victor Recife shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luisinho Alves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
