The referee ignored Jaciaba EC's protests and gave Nando Catarinense a yellow card for diving instead. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Jaciaba EC's goalkeeper Aluísio Donato, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ediberto Vianna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinho Amorim having to interfere. Alberto Ortiz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Claudinho Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cláudio Amorim was the one to do the kick off. Jaciaba EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Ortiz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Claudinho Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Ortiz in the 67th minute of the match. 71 minutes into the game, Ediberto Vianna cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Claudinho Amorim was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 76 played minutes Jaciaba EC got a freekick which was hit by Giovani Velasco. If Ediberto Vianna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alberto Ortiz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Claudinho Amorim read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. In the 90th minute of the match Ivo Travassos shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Aluísio Donato showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Alberto Ortiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Jaciaba EC had won after a very even match.
