Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Jucara's Benjamim Ferraz started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Benjamim Ferraz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 12 minutes, Clemente Arce managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jucara's supporters crossed their fingers, but Clemente Arce was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Clemente Arce got free with Gilvan Nóbrega in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 16 minutes into the game, Clemente Arce recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gilvan Nóbrega. Clemente Arce showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After having played for 20 minutes, Osmar Penha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mapixi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Osmar Penha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Augusto Koehler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luizão Rossi in the 21st minute of play. 23 minutes into the game, one of Jucara:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 25th minute there was a penalty for Mapixi. Samuel Severo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Augusto Koehler. 1-1. When Mapixi's Osmar Penha in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Jucara's goalie prevented a goal. Gilvan Nóbrega made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benjamim Ferraz in the 34th minute of play. Jucara's Augusto Koehler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luizão Rossi in the 38th minute of play. If Osmar Penha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilvan Nóbrega made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Clemente Arce sent off a good shot on target. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The supporters of Mapixi booed when Jucara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuel Maranhense didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Mapixi defense, Clemente Arce kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gilvan Nóbrega. The Mapixi fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gilvan Nóbrega should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Mapixi booed when Jucara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rafinha Barbosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 73 minutes, Osmar Penha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mapixi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Osmar Penha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luizão Rossi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Koehler having to interfere. A collision led to Jucara getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Franklin Pena hit a great ball. After 79 minutes Jucara's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Samuel Severo who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Dida Pires heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. 96 minutes into the game, Jucara's Clemente Arce nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gilvan Nóbrega made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3.
