No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Santos fc's supporters rose to their feet, but João Augusto Prata was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Víktor Novaes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dário Simões who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 94thth minute tested the skills of Víktor Novaes when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Santos fc's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Moraiba had won, even though Santos fc had held more of the ball.
