The referee ignored Gremio Futebol POA FC's protests and gave Gonçalo Mangueira a yellow card for diving instead. After 3 played minutes Gremio Futebol POA FC got a freekick which was hit by Gonçalo Mangueira. Eugênio de Queirós blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luís Guilherme Ribeiro having to make a save. After 10 minutes of play Gremio Futebol POA FC's Gonçalo Mangueira was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 9th minute, one of Gremio Futebol POA FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Gremio Futebol POA FC. The referee gave Camacandi AD a penalty, 12 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Nilton Vidal, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Gremio Futebol POA FC's Luís Guilherme Ribeiro. 0-1. Gilson Diniz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Francisco Brodel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luís Guilherme Ribeiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Gremio Futebol POA FC's Herminio Mundo got a free kick in the 18th minute. The throw-in from Francisco Brodel in the 22nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Gremio Futebol POA FC's Herminio Mundo. Dadá Félix showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Umberto de Almeida, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Gremio Futebol POA FC's Luís Guilherme Ribeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilson Diniz in the 31st minute of play. After having played for 33 minutes, Umberto de Almeida managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gremio Futebol POA FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Umberto de Almeida was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eugênio de Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Guilherme Ribeiro having to interfere. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Camacandi AD's goalkeeper Dadá Félix, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

The throw-in from Herminio Mundo in the 52nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Camacandi AD's Francisco Brodel. Luís Guilherme Ribeiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Camacandi AD. In the 78th minute, José Vítor Nogueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Camacandi AD supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Camacandi AD would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
