Osvaldo Fantini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Osvaldo Fantini managed to get in a good position for a shot. Correntes EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Osvaldo Fantini was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ezequiel Pires breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dênis Urbano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Prata having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Correntes EC's Wágner Saldanha got a free kick in the 10th minute. When Dinei Bezerra came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Barbatao EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dinei Bezerra couldn't finish the play. Ezequiel Pires came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Correntes EC's Osvaldo Fantini. But to his dismay, Osvaldo Fantini quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Through an outstanding action, after 32 minutes, Ezequiel Pires successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Wilian Salgado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Ezequiel Pires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Osvaldo Fantini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tarcisio Pombal struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Ezequiel Pires didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Correntes EC. 39 minutes into the match, Osvaldo Fantini had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ezequiel Pires. Barbatao EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Osvaldo Fantini was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osvaldo Fantini in the 42nd minute of play forced Barbatao EC's goalkeeper Ezequiel Pires to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dinei Bezerra was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute Dênis Urbano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frank Prata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The attack was good, but when Osvaldo Fantini in the 57th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. In the 60th minute Dinei Bezerra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frank Prata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Osvaldo Fantini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute, Osvaldinho Rosado made a precise shot to the right of Ezequiel Pires. Barbatao EC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. After a rather tough play, Barbatao EC's Gláuber de Castro got a free kick in the 78th minute. Osvaldo Fantini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 80 minutes, Tarcisio Pombal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Correntes EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tarcisio Pombal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Osvaldo Fantini in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ezequiel Pires saved Barbatao EC from getting behind. Ezequiel Pires made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wágner Saldanha in the 83rd minute of play. The supporters of Correntes EC booed when Barbatao EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gláuber de Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Correntes EC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Pedro Paulo de Almeida in the 92nd minute. Osvaldo Fantini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ezequiel Pires having to interfere. There was no doubt that Correntes EC were the better team. Correntes EC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
