In the 4th match minute, Correntes EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Paulo de Almeida to maneuver through the defense. Gilberto Koehler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Correntes EC's Frank Prata played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilberto Koehler in the 8th minute of play. 0-1 became the score in the 10th minute when Osvaldinho Rosado elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. A collision led to Carin getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Naldo Faustino hit a great ball. In the 17th minute, Correntes EC's João Augusto Alves seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed João Augusto Alves the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Correntes EC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and João Augusto Alves had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 18 played minutes Correntes EC got a freekick which was hit by João Augusto Alves. When Horácio Leão came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Carin fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Horácio Leão couldn't finish the play. Luiz Guilherme Mineiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osvaldo Fantini in the 22nd minute of play. 24 minutes into the game, Dino Moreira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Frank Prata was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luiz Guilherme Mineiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tarcisio Pombal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carin's Luiz Guilherme Mineiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osvaldo Fantini in the 30th minute of play. In the 35th minute Wágner Saldanha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Guilherme Mineiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 36 minutes into the game, Osvaldo Fantini was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Correntes EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carin the free kick. Correntes EC's Frank Prata played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilberto Koehler in the 37th minute of play. In the 39th minute, Dino Moreira made a precise shot to the right of Frank Prata. Correntes EC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Dino Moreira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Frank Prata made a huge save.
The wind increased when Gilberto Koehler made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Carin's goalkeeper Luiz Guilherme Mineiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Osvaldo Fantini. Dino Moreira struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Frank Prata didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carin. When Dino Moreira came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Carin fans jumped to their feet. In the 57th minute, Wágner Saldanha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 58th minute Dino Moreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frank Prata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elias de Amorim took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Frank Prata. Frank Prata dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Osvaldinho Rosado's late challenge caught a Carin's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Osvaldinho Rosado helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Correntes EC's Osvaldinho Rosado got a free kick in the 65th minute. Gilvan Fonseca kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Carin's Elias de Amorim got a free kick in the 71st minute. Naldo Faustino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Frank Prata tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wágner Saldanha hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. If Gilberto Koehler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute, Tarcisio Pombal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Correntes EC's goalkeeper Frank Prata, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 94 played minutes Correntes EC got a freekick which was hit by Marcelo Vinhas. Carin's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
