Paulo Renato Leme took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 5th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gualter Fontes. Zabele's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Jeremias Zonta charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jeremias Zonta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bebeto Arantes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Jerônimo Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 19 minutes into the match, Midnight Football Team's goalkeeper Jerônimo Paiva had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by David Paraense. After a defensive mix-up in Midnight Football Team's zone, David Paraense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jerônimo Paiva came out of the goal and David Paraense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 27 minutes, David Paraense managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zabele's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Paraense was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Jeremias Zonta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Midnight Football Team's Delfim Gaspar suffered a sore thigh after 30 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 30 minutes, Leopoldo Jacinto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Zabele and the Midnight Football Team players grew even worse after the yellow card. Bebeto Arantes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After having played for 40 minutes, Norberto de Souza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Midnight Football Team's supporters crossed their fingers, but Norberto de Souza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If David Paraense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bebeto Arantes made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Zabele's zone, Norberto de Souza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gualter Fontes came out of the goal and Norberto de Souza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Norberto de Souza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Midnight Football Team's supporters rose to their feet, but Norberto de Souza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gualter Fontes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bebeto Arantes in the 65th minute of play forced Midnight Football Team's goalkeeper Jerônimo Paiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Norberto de Souza got free with Gualter Fontes in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Norberto de Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gualter Fontes having to interfere. Norberto de Souza's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gualter Fontes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. In the 84th minute, Filipe Soares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Norberto de Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Zabele's Umberto Matos got a free kick in the 91st minute. In the 93rd minute of the match, Norberto de Souza got a very nice opportunity to score, but Gualter Fontes was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Zabele's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
