Luís Paulo França made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 12th match minute, Bandelocos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dráuzio Loureiro to maneuver through the defense. Meditacao EC's Agnaldo Neiva got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Meditacao EC booed when Bandelocos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Luís do Valle didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Cesinha Motta came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Meditacao EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cesinha Motta couldn't finish the play. Luís Paulo França stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cesinha Motta's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Cesinha Motta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Meditacao EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cesinha Motta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luís Paulo França breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Severino Pirani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Cesinha Motta's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luís Paulo França was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. The Meditacao EC fans' excitement grew in the 33rd match minute when Meditacao EC's Cesinha Motta looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. In the 44th minute, Claudinho Montenegro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cesinha Motta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Severino Pirani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The Bandelocos players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Meditacao EC were winning 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cesinha Motta was the one to do the kick off. Severino Pirani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Luís Paulo França tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Rossi in the 60th minute of play forced Meditacao EC's goalkeeper Falcão Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cesinha Motta in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luís Paulo França saved Bandelocos from getting behind. Róbson Bittencourt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Falcão Varela tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Severino Pirani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 74 minutes into the match, Bandelocos's goalkeeper Luís Paulo França had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Severino Pirani. 80 minutes into the match, Bandelocos's goal looked a bit too open when Cesinha Motta came free, but Luís Paulo França reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Pedro Luís do Valle fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bandelocos's protests and gave Pedro Luís do Valle a yellow card for diving instead. In the 82nd minute, Pedro Luís do Valle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Meditacao EC's Agnaldo Neiva couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Bandelocos. Róbson Bittencourt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Severino Piranis short, quick shot in the 93rdth minute got Luís Paulo França to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Severino Pirani took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luís Paulo França. Luís Paulo França dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4.
