Adalmo Marques dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Juarês Mineiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Adalmo Marques made a huge save. After 30 minutes, Ismael Negri mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vasco da Gama and the Camboriu players grew even worse after the yellow card. 32 minutes into the match, Vasco da Gama's goal looked a bit too open when Edvaldo Araújo came free, but Cássio de Andrade reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alfredão Moreno hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Róbson Rosa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Adalmo Marques came out and tried to block the shot, but Róbson Rosa slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 36th minute. In the 39th minute, Camboriu's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Róbson Rosa fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 40 minutes into the match, Vasco da Gama's Juarês Mineiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adalmo Marques narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Wilian Coutinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Cássio de Andrade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Edvaldo Araújo came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Camboriu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edvaldo Araújo couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Róbson Rosa to make the kick off. In the 58th match minute, Vasco da Gama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredão Moreno to maneuver through the defense. In the 59th minute, Geovânio Gaspar sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Vasco da Gama's Cássio de Andrade didn't even have to move. When Wilian Coutinho came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Camboriu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wilian Coutinho couldn't finish the play. Ismael Negri was shown his second yellow card after 63 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 67 minutes, Alfredão Moreno mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vasco da Gama and the Camboriu players grew even worse after the yellow card. Adalmo Marques dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. After 88 minutes of play, Vasco da Gama's Juarês Mineiro made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Adalmo Marques was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 93rd match minute, Vasco da Gama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredão Moreno to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Vasco da Gama fans cheered their team off the field, for while Camboriu had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
