Marcel da Cunha made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Ramón Amorim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcel da Cunha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex da Fonseca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Dieguinho de Almeida managed to get in a good position for a shot. Quatiguaba's supporters rose to their feet, but Dieguinho de Almeida was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcel da Cunha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Dieguinho de Almeida's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcel da Cunha was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. If Ramón Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcel da Cunha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dieguinho de Almeida in the 42nd minute of play. Marcel da Cunha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dieguinho de Almeida, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Quatiguaba were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dieguinho de Almeida made a kick off. Alex da Fonseca hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. 51 minutes into the match, Vieira SS's Flávio Pimenta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Carlos Fernando Macedo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dieguinho de Almeida struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Marcel da Cunha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Quatiguaba. In the 77th minute, Quatiguaba's Ramón Amorim ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marcel da Cunha. Marcel da Cunha yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-5. The supporters of Quatiguaba booed when Vieira SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kauan de Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match was over Quatiguaba could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Vieira SS throughout the match.
