In the 14th minute of the match, Paulinho do Valle got a very nice opportunity to score, but Hernando Leon was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 15 played minutes Arapira FC got a freekick which was hit by Nilton Martins. In the 37thth minute of the game Håkan Jakobsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Inhussu's Váldson Peixoto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Arapira FC's Hernando Leon got control of the ball when Paulinho do Valle tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Inhussu booed when Arapira FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Inácio Travassos didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gernando Galvão in the 45th minute of play forced Arapira FC's goalkeeper Hernando Leon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hernando Leon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gernando Galvão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hernando Leon was a little too slow when Fernando Oliveira got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 48th minute. The score was now 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Gernando Galvão made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Ulisses Secco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arapira FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ulisses Secco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Váldson Peixoto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Váldson Peixoto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Håkan Jakobsson in the 58th minute. The audience was convinced that Håkan Jakobsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Váldson Peixoto was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Váldson Peixoto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Håkan Jakobsson went, in the 99th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score.
