Hamílton Carneiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Tarcisio Palmeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 9 minutes into the match, Grotas FC's goal looked a bit too open when João Pedro Vidal came free, but Leonel de Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tarcisio Palmeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hamílton Carneiro having to interfere. Tarcisio Palmeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Tarcisio Palmeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hamílton Carneiro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eliézer Zanette's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. When Manfredo Marinho fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Botuvera AD's protests and gave Manfredo Marinho a yellow card for diving instead. In the 27th match minute, Botuvera AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manfredo Marinho to maneuver through the defense. In the 28th minute, Chicão Arruda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 35 minutes into the game, Norberto Quirino cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Leonel de Amaral was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Grotas FC's Tarcisio Palmeira got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Norberto Quirino struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Leonel de Amaral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Botuvera AD. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for João Pedro Vidal to strike the kick off in the second half. Manfredo Marinho kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Eliézer Zanette sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Botuvera AD defense, Tarcisio Palmeira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hamílton Carneiro. The Botuvera AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hamílton Carneiro should have stopped the shot. If Tarcisio Palmeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 70th minute, Norberto Quirino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leonel de Amaral was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. The crowd rose to their feet as Grotas FC's Eliézer Zanette slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Hamílton Carneiro. That made the score 2-3 after 73 minutes of play. Duda de Godoy kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. A long shot from Telmo Velloso in the 78th minute of play was well struck, but Hamílton Carneiro made a really good save at the right post. Naldo Loureiro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 80th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Leonel de Amaral. Grotas FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Eliézer Zanette managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grotas FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Eliézer Zanette was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hamílton Carneiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hamílton Carneiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliézer Zanette in the 90th minute of the match. Hamílton Carneiro came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Grotas FC's Tarcisio Palmeira. But to his dismay, Tarcisio Palmeira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4. Grotas FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
