In the 5thth minute of the game Betão Carvalho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ibatequara's Dráuzio Brito was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bruninho Couto might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dráuzio Brito. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bruninho Couto ran back to his position shaking his head. Betão Carvalho struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Dráuzio Brito didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for LosCaricas. Dráuzio Brito stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Betão Carvalho's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. Benjamim Marquez came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Ibatequara's Cláudio Coelho. But to his dismay, Cláudio Coelho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Cláudio Coelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamim Marquez having to interfere. A sloppy throw-in by Jarbas Mandrak in the 16th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by LosCaricas's Álvaro Diniz. Dráuzio Brito made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Bruninho Couto sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Ibatequara's Dráuzio Brito got control of the ball when Bruninho Couto tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in LosCaricas's zone, Ricardo Valle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benjamim Marquez came out of the goal and Ricardo Valle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arí Massa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamim Marquez having to interfere. 25 minutes into the game, Ibatequara's Jacinto Alves nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benjamim Marquez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. A collision led to LosCaricas getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Kauan Vergílio hit a great ball. Ibatequara's Jarbas Mandrak took a good shot, in the 31st minute, which hit the crossbar above Benjamim Marquez's head, and flew over the goal. LosCaricas's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Ibatequara. Benjamim Marquez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardo Valle, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Dráuzio Brito made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Betão Carvalho sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Álvaro Diniz got free with Dráuzio Brito in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bruninho Couto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dráuzio Brito having to interfere. If Bruninho Couto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Betão Carvalho in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dráuzio Brito saved Ibatequara from getting behind.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Betão Carvalho made a kick off. LosCaricas's Benjamim Marquez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save LosCaricas from getting a goal against them. Betão Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 66 minutes into the match, LosCaricas's Betão Carvalho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dráuzio Brito narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Kauan Vergílio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 67th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dráuzio Brito. Ibatequara's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Bruninho Couto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 73rd match minute, Ibatequara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cláudio Coelho to maneuver through the defense. In the 74th minute Betão Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dráuzio Brito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Bruninho Couto came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the LosCaricas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bruninho Couto couldn't finish the play. Cláudio Coelho charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cláudio Coelho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 93rd minute Betão Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dráuzio Brito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ibatequara would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
