In the 5th minute Ricardinho Chaves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adrianinho Furtado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 8th minute, Ricardinho Chaves made a precise shot to the right of Adrianinho Furtado. Massaranduba's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. A collision led to Paulinia getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Ricardinho Chaves hit a great ball. 14 minutes into the match, Massaranduba's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardinho Chaves came free, but Adrianinho Furtado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Geraldo Reis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Adrianinho Furtado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardinho Chaves in the 30th minute of play forced Massaranduba's goalkeeper Adrianinho Furtado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Massaranduba's zone, Ricardinho Chaves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adrianinho Furtado came out of the goal and Ricardinho Chaves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 35 played minutes Massaranduba got a freekick which was hit by Gilson Antunes. In the 39th minute, Ricardinho Chaves made a precise shot to the right of Adrianinho Furtado. Massaranduba's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Dudu Zilles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roberto Nóbrega having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dudu Zilles to make the kick off. Adrianinho Furtado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardinho Chaves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Massaranduba getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Raúl Guerra hit a great ball. Adrianinho Furtado made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Geraldo Reis sent off a good shot on target. Hugo Alagoano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roberto Nóbrega having to interfere. In the 62nd minute Ricardinho Chaves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adrianinho Furtado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Digo Branco hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Hugo Alagoano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Massaranduba's Adrianinho Furtado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Massaranduba from getting a goal against them. Massaranduba's Adrianinho Furtado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardinho Chaves in the 82nd minute of play. When Dudu Zilles fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Massaranduba's protests and gave Dudu Zilles a yellow card for diving instead. In the 84th minute, Dudu Zilles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adrianinho Furtado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardinho Chaves in the 86th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardinho Chaves in the 88th minute of play forced Massaranduba's goalkeeper Adrianinho Furtado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 92 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Paulinia! Roberto Nóbrega went to the wrong direction when Caetano Tepedino was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Hugo Alagoano struck a weak shot in the 98th minute. Roberto Nóbrega didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Massaranduba. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Paulinia eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
