Ricardinho Chaves scored 0-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gilvan Lima, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gilvan Lima showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geraldo Reis in the 15th minute of the match. Gilvan Lima took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardinho Chaves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd match minute, Levinopolis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauro Pena to maneuver through the defense. In the 27th match minute, Paulinia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelo Fernandes to maneuver through the defense. Chicão Cunha was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 28th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Ricardinho Chaves's late challenge caught a Levinopolis's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ricardinho Chaves helped the player get up and apologised. In the 32nd minute, Ricardinho Chaves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Geraldo Reis in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilvan Lima saved Levinopolis from getting behind. 43 minutes into the match, Levinopolis's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardinho Chaves came free, but Gilvan Lima reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Paulinia fans' excitement grew in the 45th match minute when Paulinia's Ricardinho Chaves looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Eugênio Nascimento hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After the first half Paulinia were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frederico Queiroz was the one to do the kick off. Geraldo Reis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Gilvan Lima made a huge save. 74 minutes into the match, Levinopolis's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardinho Chaves came free, but Gilvan Lima reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75th minute, Geraldo Reis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Paulinia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Dito Arantes hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Dito Arantes charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dito Arantes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a defensive mix-up in Paulinia's zone, Frederico Queiroz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roberto Nóbrega came out of the goal and Frederico Queiroz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luiz Guilherme Cerezo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
