Thomás Neves was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Caio Secco. The audience thought a goal was coming when Oscar Leal got free with Thomás Neves in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Guto Ferraz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thomás Neves was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Belchior Chaves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Oscar Leal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 68th minute, José Maria Braga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luiz Guilherme Dias made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when José Maria Braga sent off a good shot on target. Despite being the better team, Itibira failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
