Edmundo Ramalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Filipe Pirani fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Murucupi AD's protests and gave Filipe Pirani a yellow card for diving instead. After 18 played minutes Murucupi AD got a freekick which was hit by Filipe Pirani. Lúcio Gaspar struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Márcio Tavares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Murucupi AD. Silvinho Alves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ivo Paranaense stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hernani Cardoso's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Murucupi AD's Ivo Paranaense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hernani Cardoso in the 34th minute of play. Ivo Paranaense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hernani Cardoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Sílvio Valle kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Murucupi AD were awarded a corner in the 43th minute after Chuy's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Doriva de Carvalho took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Doriva de Carvalho got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Márcio Tavares quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lúcio Gaspar to make the kick off. The supporters of Chuy booed when Murucupi AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardinho Couto didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hernani Cardoso in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ivo Paranaense saved Murucupi AD from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Hernani Cardoso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ivo Paranaense was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. After 66 minutes of play, Chuy's Hernani Cardoso made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ivo Paranaense was left in no man's land by his defense there! Márcio Tavares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lúcio Gaspar in the 72nd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Lúcio Gaspar kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Márcio Tavares. That made the score 3-2 in the 75 minute of play. Bernardinho Couto got his second yellow card in the match during the 79th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 80th minute, Bernardinho Couto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 82nd minute Hernani Cardoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivo Paranaense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hernani Cardoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivo Paranaense having to interfere. Ivo Paranaense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silvinho Alves, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. After 89 played minutes Murucupi AD got a freekick which was hit by Cesinha Tinoco. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Chuy fans cheered their team off the field, for while Murucupi AD had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
