Jânio Mello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexsandro Brasil having to interfere. Jerônimo Duarte who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 13thth minute tested the skills of Lúcio do Nascimento when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With his leg Lúcio do Nascimento managed to avoid a goal in the 17thth minute, when Indaiatuba SC's Jerônimo Duarte fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a little luck, Santos Laguna FC's Lúcio do Nascimento got control of the ball when Jerônimo Duarte tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marcin Juzda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luís Pontes was the one to do the kick off. Luís Pontes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Alexsandro Brasil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luís Pontes struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Alexsandro Brasil didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Santos Laguna FC. When Indaiatuba SC's Jerônimo Duarte in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 80 played minutes Santos Laguna FC got a freekick which was hit by Norberto Mazza. In the 89th minute, Luís Pontes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alexsandro Brasil stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luís Pontes's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. The supporters of Santos Laguna FC booed when Indaiatuba SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorginho de Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Indaiatuba SC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
