The supporters of Cerquilho booed when Aracatiara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norberto Brasil didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sebastian Gonza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Carlos Corrêa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, Cerquilho's goal looked a bit too open when Faustão Cearense came free, but Donatello Nogueira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cerquilho's Mihail Gheorghe got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Faustão Cearense kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. In the 44th minute, Norberto Brasil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fiori da Silva to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Fiori da Silva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Cerquilho booed when Aracatiara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norberto Brasil didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Agenor Mesquita got free with Donatello Nogueira in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Donatello Nogueira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Agenor Mesquita in the 72nd minute. After a rather tough play, Aracatiara's Fernão Esteves got a free kick in the 73rd minute. 74 minutes into the match, Fiori da Silva notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Aracatiara's Carlos Corrêa. Carlos Corrêa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 77 played minutes Cerquilho got a freekick which was hit by Afonsinho Loureiro. Sebastian Gonza's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carlos Corrêa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. Faustão Cearense scored 1-1 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Donatello Nogueira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Fiori da Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cerquilho's supporters rose to their feet, but Fiori da Silva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Corrêa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
