Charles Guerra hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Lucas Almeida managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itaocatira's supporters rose to their feet, but Lucas Almeida was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hermínio Arce breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dedê Figueiredo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Cristian Damião made a huge save. In the 16th minute, Tiago Gabriel do Nascimento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hélio Valadares struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Hermínio Arce didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itaocatira. 22 minutes into the match, Luís Fabiano de Mendonça had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hermínio Arce. Pereba SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luís Fabiano de Mendonça was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Hermínio Arce showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nilson Abraão in the 29th minute of the match. If Giovanni Félix had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute, Lucas Almeida made a precise shot to the right of Hermínio Arce. Pereba SS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. When Dedê Figueiredo came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Pereba SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dedê Figueiredo couldn't finish the play. Hermínio Arce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nilson Abraão, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dedê Figueiredo to make the kick off. Dedê Figueiredo struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Cristian Damião didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pereba SS. Giovanni Félix received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Cristian Damião tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Itaocatira's Hermínio Arce threw himself towards the right post 58 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Armando Custódio, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 63rd minute, Lucas Almeida got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 66th minute Armando Custódio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hermínio Arce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Itaocatira's Nilson Abraão slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Hermínio Arce. That made the score 0-3 after 69 minutes of play. After 72 minutes, Nilson Abraão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itaocatira and the Pereba SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 72 played minutes Itaocatira got a freekick which was hit by Nilson Abraão. After a defensive mix-up in Itaocatira's zone, Dedê Figueiredo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristian Damião came out of the goal and Dedê Figueiredo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 80th minute of the match, Luís Fabiano de Mendonça got a very nice opportunity to score, but Hermínio Arce was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Itaocatira's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
