An unexpectedly hard shot by Nelson Tande in the 23rd minute of play forced Damianopolis AD's goalkeeper Cléber de Toledo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Damianopolis AD's Cléber de Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Basílio Teixeira in the 39th minute of play. Agostinho Castro was out of position in the 45 minute of play, and Romário Vinhas capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Paulinho Viana made a kick off. Jonathan Brasil took the ball and in the 51 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Agostinho Castro. Agostinho Castro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Basílio Teixeira struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Cléber de Toledo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Apuarema Junior. After a defensive mix-up in Damianopolis AD's zone, Basílio Teixeira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. But to his dismay, Nelson Tande quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Cléber de Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basílio Teixeira in the 79th minute of play. 82 minutes into the match, Damianopolis AD's goalkeeper Cléber de Toledo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nelson Tande. 83 minutes into the match, Basílio Teixeira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cléber de Toledo. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Basílio Teixeira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Apuarema Junior's supporters rose to their feet, but Basílio Teixeira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cléber de Toledo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Apuarema Junior's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
