Benedicto Sayvion sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Germano Vinhas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Baliza AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Germano Vinhas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gerson Soares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Edelmiro Honesto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Germano Vinhas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Gerson Soares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Inácio de Andrade's late challenge caught a Baliza AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Inácio de Andrade helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Aturiai SS getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Inácio de Andrade hit a great ball. In the 19th minute Baliza AD were awarded a corner. Germano Vinhas went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Geovani Braga heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Benedicto Sayvion fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerson Soares having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Benedicto Sayvion in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gerson Soares saved Aturiai SS from getting behind. Edelmiro Honesto struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Gerson Soares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Baliza AD. 38 minutes into the match, Aturiai SS's goalkeeper Gerson Soares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edelmiro Honesto. In a very dangerous position, a player in Baliza AD fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 40th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Aturiai SS a penalty, 42 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Carlos Fernando Pontes, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Baliza AD's Aírton Fontes. 2-1. Aturiai SS's Gerson Soares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benedicto Sayvion in the 48th minute of play.

In the 53rd minute, Benedicto Sayvion left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Baliza AD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. In the 56th match minute, Aturiai SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zeca de Queiroz to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leonel Ortiz got free with Aírton Fontes in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Aturiai SS booed when Baliza AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geovani Braga didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 68thth minute of the game Edelmiro Honesto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Aturiai SS's Gerson Soares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Benedicto Sayvion's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gerson Soares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. Zeca de Queiroz hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Edelmiro Honesto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerson Soares having to interfere. There was no doubt that Baliza AD were the better team. Baliza AD's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
