Arí de Brito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciro Mendonça, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Luís Fabiano Damião made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Guilherme Gonçalves in the 32nd minute of play. Pedro Peixoto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fabiano Damião having to interfere. Cebolao's Arí de Brito proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Cebolao from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Brococo's zone, Pedro Peixoto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Fabiano Damião came out of the goal and Pedro Peixoto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Silvinho Cunha during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 44th match minute, Brococo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvinho Cunha to maneuver through the defense. After 46 minutes, João Augusto Barbosa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Brococo and the Cebolao players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 46th minute, João Augusto Barbosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Peixoto in the 47th minute of play forced Brococo's goalkeeper Luís Fabiano Damião to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

Elder Pinho took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 62nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Arí de Brito. Cebolao's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. João Augusto Barbosa struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Arí de Brito didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brococo. 68 minutes into the match, Cebolao's goal looked a bit too open when Ciro Mendonça came free, but Arí de Brito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sidnei de Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
