Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sandrinho Arantes's late challenge caught a Cebolao's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sandrinho Arantes helped the player get up and apologised. In the 19th minute, Sandrinho Arantes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tony Albuquerque showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Peixoto, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. When Pedro Peixoto came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Cebolao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Peixoto couldn't finish the play. After having played for 27 minutes, Simão de Mendonça managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cebolao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Simão de Mendonça was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arí de Brito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Murilo dos Santos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32ndth minute of the game Murilo dos Santos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cebolao's Arí de Brito was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Igor Massa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Cebolao's zone, Murilo dos Santos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arí de Brito came out of the goal and Murilo dos Santos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arí de Brito stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Igor Massa's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Simão de Mendonça charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Simão de Mendonça the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Cebolao's Simão de Mendonça got a free kick in the 36th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Murilo dos Santos in the 37th minute of play forced Cebolao's goalkeeper Arí de Brito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Igor Massa came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Castanheiro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Igor Massa couldn't finish the play. Murilo dos Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Arí de Brito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Victor Sousa kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Arí de Brito was out of position in the 56 minute of play, and Igor Massa capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Igor Massa really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. The audience was convinced that Igor Massa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arí de Brito was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Murilo dos Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Castanheiro's supporters rose to their feet, but Murilo dos Santos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arí de Brito breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 72nd minute, Pedro Peixoto made a precise shot to the right of Tony Albuquerque. Castanheiro's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. 77 minutes into the match, Cebolao's goal looked a bit too open when Igor Massa came free, but Arí de Brito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Simão de Mendonça was shown his second yellow card after 78 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Simão de Mendonça hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Igor Massa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dudu Lopes was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 90th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Arí de Brito made an important save on a dangerous shot by Murilo dos Santos in the 93rd minute. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
