When Telmo da Rocha came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Massuim AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Telmo da Rocha couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cléber Branco during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 8th match minute, Sengo SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cléber Branco to maneuver through the defense. Dalmo de Senna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gláuber Arce having to interfere. Alessandro Sabóia charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alessandro Sabóia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 27th minute Dalmo de Senna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gláuber Arce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 31 minutes, Dalmo de Senna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Massuim AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dalmo de Senna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dalmo de Senna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gláuber Arce stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dalmo de Senna's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. When Massuim AD's Dalmo de Senna in the 42nd minute got a chance for a shot 42nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sengo SS's goalie prevented a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dalmo de Senna in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gláuber Arce prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nilson Andrade stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Telmo da Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Gláuber Arce tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aírton Arce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nilson Andrade, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Nilson Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 62nd minute, Alessandro de Carvalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Richard Cardozo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 63rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Aírton Arce. Massuim AD's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Aírton Arce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nilson Andrade, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Telmo da Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dalmo de Senna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gláuber Arce having to interfere. After 80 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Massuim AD! A collision led to Massuim AD getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Tião Andrade hit a great ball. Richard Cardozo struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Aírton Arce didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sengo SS. After some careless play in the Sengo SS defense, Telmo da Rocha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gláuber Arce. The Sengo SS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gláuber Arce should have stopped the shot. In the 97th minute Silvério Quintal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aírton Arce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Silvério Quintal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Aírton Arce tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
