The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Oriche Zapatero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucas Proença in the 52nd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Pedro Luís Massa put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Carlos Alberto Esteves. In the 60th match minute, Xibaua was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conrado de Lara to maneuver through the defense. Gláuber Cosme hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match.
