Carlos Pernambucano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Garapua. Edvaldo Pontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Meireles having to interfere. Edvaldo Pontes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Armando Meireles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Clemente Ramalho came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Garapua fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Clemente Ramalho couldn't finish the play. Dionísio Martins charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dionísio Martins the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dionísio Martins kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Serginho Carneiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Patrick Sarmento made a precise shot to the right of Carlos Pernambucano. Itupeva's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. A collision led to Itupeva getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Erivaldo Marinho hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Garapua's Otávio Trigo got a free kick in the 71st minute. 73 minutes into the match, Garapua's goal looked a bit too open when Serginho Carneiro came free, but Armando Meireles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Serginho Carneiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itupeva's supporters rose to their feet, but Serginho Carneiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Armando Meireles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling André Barros in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos Pernambucano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Edvaldo Pontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Meireles having to interfere. In the 96th minute, Edvaldo Pontes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Itupeva players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Garapua.
