In the 3rd minute Márcio Alves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 徐奕钢 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Durvalino Albuquerque sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 9th minute of the game Jairo Pereira made a throw-in which Téo de Senna played forward. Hermínio Velasco charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hermínio Velasco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Affua EC booed when Cayru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hermínio Velasco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Geovanni Cardoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baltazar Prestes having to interfere. Reginaldo Quaresma kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Márcio Alves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without 徐奕钢 having to interfere. 徐奕钢 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chico Fernandes in the 21st minute of play. Cayru's Laércio Rodrigues got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Guga Moreno's late challenge caught a Affua EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Guga Moreno helped the player get up and apologised. In the 28th match minute, Cayru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guga Moreno to maneuver through the defense. After 30 played minutes, Affua EC's Váldson Ramos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper 徐奕钢 came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Affua EC reached it. Baltazar Prestes was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Betinho Simão. 36 minutes into the match, Cayru's Durvalino Albuquerque sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Baltazar Prestes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some careless play in the Affua EC defense, Durvalino Albuquerque kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Baltazar Prestes. The Affua EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Baltazar Prestes should have stopped the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Durvalino Albuquerque to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Durvalino Albuquerque got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Márcio Alves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. 徐奕钢 tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Baltazar Prestes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Durvalino Albuquerque's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Durvalino Albuquerque in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Baltazar Prestes saved Affua EC from getting behind. 72 minutes into the match, Durvalino Albuquerque had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Baltazar Prestes. Affua EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Durvalino Albuquerque was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Durvalino Albuquerque in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Baltazar Prestes saved Affua EC from getting behind. After 76 minutes of play, Affua EC's Chico Fernandes made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. 徐奕钢 was left in no man's land by his defense there! 徐奕钢 didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Márcio Alves went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Chico Fernandes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but 徐奕钢 read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. 徐奕钢 was a little too slow when Chico Fernandes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 85th minute. The score was now 2-3. After a defensive mix-up in Affua EC's zone, Durvalino Albuquerque stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baltazar Prestes came out of the goal and Durvalino Albuquerque tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 徐奕钢 made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Márcio Alves sent off a good shot on target. The Affua EC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Affua EC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
