Tarcisio Melo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Luís Valladares having to interfere. 5 minutes into the game, Angelo Jacinto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Formos FCCMZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Matinada the free kick. Angelo Jacinto hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. After 14 played minutes Formos FCCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Donato Rossi. 19 minutes into the match, Formos FCCMZ's goalkeeper Durvalino Couto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cícero Correia. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Cícero Correia put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Durvalino Couto. Wilson Diniz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. André Luís Valladares came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Formos FCCMZ's Tarcisio Melo. But to his dismay, Tarcisio Melo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tarcisio Melo made a kick off. Tarcisio Melo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. André Luís Valladares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cícero Correia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Durvalino Couto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Cícero Correia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Matinada's Sílvio Luiz Marques got a free kick in the 78th minute. A collision led to Formos FCCMZ getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Donato Rossi hit a great ball. When Tarcisio Melo came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Formos FCCMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tarcisio Melo couldn't finish the play. If Tarcisio Melo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
