After 9 played minutes, Clube do Remo's Telmo Linhares shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marcelinho Quirino came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Clube do Remo reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damiano Mara in the 18th minute of play forced Pinga AD's goalkeeper Marcelinho Quirino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pinga AD's Marcelinho Quirino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Fernando Diniz in the 20th minute of play. Clube do Remo's Carlos Fernando Diniz got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 26th minute, Carlos Fernando Diniz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Carlos Fernando Diniz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcelinho Quirino having to make a save. Marcinho Pimenta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Doni Toscano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Doni Toscano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gil Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. After a rather tough play, Pinga AD's Gil Alcântara got a free kick in the 44th minute. In the 45thth minute of the game Carlos Fernando Diniz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pinga AD's Marcelinho Quirino was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gil Alcântara was the one to do the kick off. Gil Alcântara's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Doni Toscano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. 56 minutes into the match, Pinga AD's goalkeeper Marcelinho Quirino had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Damiano Mara. Doni Toscano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Renan Aparecido's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carlos Fernando Diniz in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcelinho Quirino saved Pinga AD from getting behind. If Renan Aparecido had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcinho Pimenta hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. If Carlos Fernando Diniz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Luiz Gustavo Sanches fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pinga AD's protests and gave Luiz Gustavo Sanches a yellow card for diving instead. After a defensive mix-up in Clube do Remo's zone, Renan Aparecido stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Doni Toscano came out of the goal and Renan Aparecido tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee gave Pinga AD a penalty, 79 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Duda Lima, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Clube do Remo's Doni Toscano. 1-0. In the 89th minute, Claudinei Lucas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Pinga AD's zone, Carlos Fernando Diniz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelinho Quirino came out of the goal and Carlos Fernando Diniz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 95th minute, Carlos Fernando Diniz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Anselmo Burutzagi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pinga AD's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
