If Anselmo Mazza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonas Vieira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Doni Toscano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlos Fernando Diniz might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Amílton Melo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carlos Fernando Diniz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 39thth minute tested the skills of Amílton Melo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carlos Fernando Diniz in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amílton Melo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Carlos Fernando Diniz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amílton Melo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
