If Eduardo da Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Criciúma E.C.'s Marcelinho Tande got a free kick in the 6th minute. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Osvaldinho Catarinense took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Lucas Vinhas to make any attempt to save it. After having played for 18 minutes, Eduardo da Silveira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Criciúma E.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Eduardo da Silveira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hortêncio da Mata scored 2-0 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lucas Vinhas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 25 minutes into the match, Criciúma E.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Osvaldinho Catarinense came free, but Lucas Vinhas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dagoberto Quadros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erasmo Baptista, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. After having played for 29 minutes, Eduardo da Silveira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Criciúma E.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Eduardo da Silveira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Hortêncio da Mata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Osvaldinho Catarinense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucas Vinhas having to interfere. In the 46th minute, one of Pacoval SS:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Pacoval SS. The referee gave Criciúma E.C. a penalty, 48 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Otávio Severo, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Pacoval SS's Dagoberto Quadros. 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Lucas Vinhas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osvaldinho Catarinense in the 54th minute of the match. Osvaldinho Catarinense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Lucas Vinhas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Pacoval SS booed when Criciúma E.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diogo Brodel didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Pacoval SS getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Jacinto Tepedino hit a great ball. Dagoberto Quadros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erasmo Baptista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dagoberto Quadros didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Erasmo Baptista went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Osvaldinho Catarinense in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lucas Vinhas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Diogo Brodel's late challenge caught a Pacoval SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Diogo Brodel helped the player get up and apologised. In the 88th minute, Diogo Brodel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 91 minutes had been played when some careless play by Criciúma E.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Afonsinho Rossi was slow to take the kick. During this time Pacoval SS's players had a chance to rest. The corner led to Pacoval SS's Hortêncio da Mata getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Hortêncio da Mata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Pacoval SS fully deserved thier win.
