Laerte do Nascimento ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Rio Branco VN's Cleiton Botelho got a free kick in the 10th minute. After having played for 14 minutes, Laerte do Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. A A Santa Cruz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Laerte do Nascimento was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 20 minutes into the game, Cauan Nascimento was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. A A Santa Cruz's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rio Branco VN the free kick. A collision led to A A Santa Cruz getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Cauan Nascimento hit a great ball. In the 23rd minute, one of A A Santa Cruz:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for A A Santa Cruz. Jairo Valle had in the 24thth minute some difficulties stopping Ademir Schmidt's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Ademir Schmidt scored 0-1 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jairo Valle, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mário Arósio lost his temper 28 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 29th minute there was a penalty for A A Santa Cruz. Luís Fábio Aguiar stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Miguel Meira. 1-1. A collision led to Rio Branco VN getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Hugo Prado hit a great ball. Luís Fábio Aguiar kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. If Diguinho Cordeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Diguinho Cordeiro made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Diguinho Cordeiro got free with Jairo Valle in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Diguinho Cordeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Reginaldo Queiroz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rio Branco VN's supporters rose to their feet, but Reginaldo Queiroz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jairo Valle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 81 minutes in the game, Diguinho Cordeiro fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Jairo Valle having to interfere. 86 minutes into the match, Rio Branco VN's goal looked a bit too open when Laerte do Nascimento came free, but Miguel Meira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Reginaldo Queiroz charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Reginaldo Queiroz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Rio Branco VN's Reginaldo Queiroz got a free kick in the 87th minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 94th minute of the game. One of Rio Branco VN:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of A A Santa Cruz:s goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The A A Santa Cruz fans cheered their team off the field, for while Rio Branco VN had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
