After 3 minutes, Belmiro Quadros mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Muritiba and the Sururu FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 3rd minute, Belmiro Quadros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luisão Simão charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luisão Simão the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Muritiba's Luisão Simão got a free kick in the 6th minute. A collision led to Muritiba getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Anselmo de Amorim hit a great ball. After 9 minutes, Amauri Teixeira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sururu FC and the Muritiba players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anselmo de Amorim in the 14th minute of play forced Sururu FC's goalkeeper Rubinho Moura to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Valério Bittencourt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Horácio Pirani kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Pedro Paulo Torres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Anselmo de Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Paulo Torres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubinho Moura having to interfere. Horácio Pirani kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. After 39 played minutes, Muritiba's Enrique Marquez shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rubinho Moura came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Muritiba reached it. In the 43rd minute, Olívio Toledo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Sururu FC's zone, Pedro Paulo Torres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rubinho Moura came out of the goal and Pedro Paulo Torres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Anselmo de Amorim made a kick off. In the 57th minute, Enrique Marquez sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Sururu FC's Rubinho Moura didn't even have to move. After 62 minutes, Clemente Zilles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sururu FC and the Muritiba players grew even worse after the yellow card. Clemente Zilles hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Muritiba's Enrique Marquez tried to score from far away in the 64th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 69 minutes into the match, Muritiba's goal looked a bit too open when Amauri Teixeira came free, but Erivaldo Alagoano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amauri Teixeira in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Erivaldo Alagoano saved Muritiba from getting behind. Muritiba's Erivaldo Alagoano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amauri Teixeira in the 75th minute of play. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Muritiba's goalkeeper Erivaldo Alagoano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rubinho Moura showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anselmo de Amorim in the 79th minute of the match. After 79 minutes of play, Muritiba's Anselmo de Amorim made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rubinho Moura was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Anselmo de Amorim came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Muritiba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anselmo de Amorim couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anselmo de Amorim in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rubinho Moura saved Sururu FC from getting behind. Anselmo de Amorim recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Horácio Pirani's late challenge caught a Muritiba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Horácio Pirani helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Sururu FC's Horácio Pirani got a free kick in the 91st minute. In the 92nd minute, Pedro Paulo Torres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Amauri Teixeira scored 1-1 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Erivaldo Alagoano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Muritiba were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
