The audience thought a goal was coming when Adelino Cavalcante got free with Cipriano Vergílio in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tomás Silva's late challenge caught a Jacareí FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tomás Silva helped the player get up and apologised. In the 20th minute, Tomás Silva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cipriano Vergílio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victor Gaspar in the 24th minute of the match. Cipriano Vergílio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Gaspar in the 25th minute of play. Adelino Cavalcantes short, quick shot in the 26thth minute got Cipriano Vergílio to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Reinaldo Coutinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Francisco Seco having to interfere. In the 34th minute, Reinaldo Coutinho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 36 minutes into the match, Jacareí FC's goalkeeper Cipriano Vergílio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adelino Cavalcante. Reinaldo Coutinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 42nd minute, Adelino Cavalcante got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Victor Gaspar to make the kick off. João Francisco Seco made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Elivélton Viana sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Jacareí FC getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Luís Guilherme Paraibano hit a great ball. Cipriano Vergílio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Gaspar, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. 65 minutes into the match, Jacareí FC's goal looked a bit too open when Adelino Cavalcante came free, but Cipriano Vergílio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute Adelino Cavalcante shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cipriano Vergílio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cipriano Vergílio came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by BahiaFC 10's Victor Gaspar. But to his dismay, Victor Gaspar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. BahiaFC 10's Adelino Cavalcante got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Victor Gaspar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Victor Gaspar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cipriano Vergílio having to interfere. If Adelino Cavalcante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adelino Cavalcante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cipriano Vergílio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victor Gaspar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Adelino Cavalcante came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the BahiaFC 10 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adelino Cavalcante couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Jacareí FC getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Paulinho de Alcântara hit a great ball. When Adelino Cavalcante came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the BahiaFC 10 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adelino Cavalcante couldn't finish the play. Adelino Cavalcante received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Cipriano Vergílio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jacareí FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
