Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gilson Teles in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paulo Renato Vergílio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Norberto Diniz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paulo Renato Vergílio having to make a save. 10 minutes into the game, Iauare's Norberto Diniz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Paulo Renato Vergílio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 16 minutes, Alessandro Peixoto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SANTOS FC and the Iauare players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Iauare booed when SANTOS FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alessandro Peixoto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Albertino Baptista was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 17th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Kiko Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adriano de Godoy made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Naldo de Salles sent off a good shot on target. Gilson Teles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Paulo Renato Vergílio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 29 minutes into the game, Zé Roberto Valle was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Iauare's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SANTOS FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Iauare's Zé Roberto Valle got a free kick in the 29th minute. If Kiko Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilson Teles in the 35th minute of play forced SANTOS FC's goalkeeper Paulo Renato Vergílio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Norberto Diniz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Renato Vergílio having to interfere.

In the 52ndth minute of the game Naldo de Salles who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Iauare's Adriano de Godoy was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 56 played minutes SANTOS FC got a freekick which was hit by Alessandro Peixoto. Gilson Teles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Iauare's Norberto Diniz in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Paulo Renato Vergílio didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Iauare's Norberto Diniz shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-2 in the ordered_time% minute. Manoel Duarte kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kiko Cunha in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adriano de Godoy saved Iauare from getting behind. In the 75th minute, Iauare's Norberto Diniz dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. Rafael Proença received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Paulo Renato Vergílio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adriano de Godoy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kiko Cunha in the 82nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Naldo de Salles managed to get in a good position for a shot. SANTOS FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Naldo de Salles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adriano de Godoy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Naldo de Salles blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adriano de Godoy having to make a save. Paulo Renato Vergílio made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Gilson Teles sent off a good shot on target. The Iauare players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
