The corner led to Atlético Cruz's Betão Vander getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. The Atlético Cruz fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when Atlético Cruz's Alberto das Neves looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Lenílson Catarinense managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Cruz's supporters rose to their feet, but Lenílson Catarinense was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dino Abraão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 32 minutes into the match, Flavinho Zilles dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ernani Coutinho, 1-2. After a rather tough play, Cocoi SC's Laércio Oliveira got a free kick in the 39th minute. Dino Abraão stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alberto das Neves's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lúcio Dante to strike the kick off in the second half. Lino Teles struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Dino Abraão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atlético Cruz. 57 minutes into the match, Cocoi SC's goalkeeper Dino Abraão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lenílson Catarinense. In the 63rdth minute of the game Alberto das Neves who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cocoi SC's Dino Abraão was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Cocoi SC's zone, Lenílson Catarinense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dino Abraão came out of the goal and Lenílson Catarinense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 66 minutes, Alberto das Neves put it in 1-4 from a short distance just to the right of Dino Abraão. Dino Abraão made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Alberto das Neves sent off a good shot on target. In the 74th minute, Betão Vander got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alberto das Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dino Abraão having to interfere. When Betão Vander came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Atlético Cruz fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Betão Vander couldn't finish the play. Dino Abraão didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 81st minute, which inside left pole to 1-5. Dino Abraão made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Natã Mandrak sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Alberto das Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Cruz's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
