With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ernani da Fonseca prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 0-1 became the score in the 12th minute when Egídio Rosa elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Mathias de Almeida kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. In the 24th minute, Válbson Siqueira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Rondinha booed when Jaracatiara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mathias de Almeida didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 27th minute Egídio Rosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernani da Fonseca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Jaracatiara defense, Olavo Arce kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ernani da Fonseca. The Jaracatiara fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ernani da Fonseca should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Válbson Siqueira during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 35th match minute, Rondinha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Válbson Siqueira to maneuver through the defense. If Válbson Siqueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Olavo Arce in the 52nd minute of play forced Jaracatiara's goalkeeper Ernani da Fonseca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A hard shot 53 in the game by Sandro Penha from a close distance when the talented Ernani da Fonseca managed to make a qualified save. Jaracatiara's players were relieved. If Olavo Arce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Rondinha's Egídio Rosa in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Jaracatiara's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to Rondinha getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Olavo Arce hit a great ball. Ernani da Fonseca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Egídio Rosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Egídio Rosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 64 minutes in the game, Egídio Rosa fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ernani da Fonseca having to interfere. Egídio Rosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Ernani da Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ernani da Fonseca had great luck who in the 69thth minute grab hold of the ball when Egídio Rosa from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Egídio Rosa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
